Assessment of Entries

Criteria

All entries should provide full documentation outlining the process of targeting, research, project formulation, implementation and measurement of outcomes. The judging panel will be specifically looking at campaigns that clearly demonstrate the following:

  • How well the strategy has considered aspects of cultural diversity as a basis for producing, exporting or marketing a product, service, event, etc.
  • The role that the culturally diverse workforce played in the marketing of the product or service, for example, the use of staffs language skills, cultural skills, knowledge or networks.
  • How the product or service impacted upon its target audience and the impression it created, given the size of the financial resources and other resources used in marketing the product or service.
  • Originality and innovation of the product or service.

The project which is being nominated should have been completed, or put into operation, within the 18 months prior to the close of nominations on 31 August 2011.

Entrants are encouraged to include any relevant additional materials to support their entry. All joint entries should be submitted in agreement with both parties.

Process

An independent panel of experts in the field of multicultural marketing and communications will undertake the assessment of entries. Commissioners and employees of the Commission will not be involved in the judging of entries.

  • Stage 1: The judging panel will assess each entry according to the published criteria and taking into account all relevant information provided. Only entries that meet the criteria will proceed to Stage 2.
  • Stage 2: The panel will select the finalists for each category.
  • Stage 3: The panel will select the winner for each category. The winning entries will be announced at the Gala Presentation Dinner hosted by the Minister for Citizenship.
 

Confidentiality

In the course of normal business, the CRC collects and stores personal information, such as that on the National Multicultural Marketing Award nomination form, to carry out its legislated and other responsibilities.
