General Grants

General grants are for projects that promote cultural expressions, enhance community development, or for minimum capital purchases. Funding under this category is for twelve months duration, commencing from the payment of the grant. The Commission will only consider funding projects which are no longer than twelve months.

Projects may include the promotion of cultural expression, the enhancement of community development or capital purchases.

Examples of projects supported by funding in this category are:

• contribution towards the employment of a worker to assist with a men's support group
• a Multicultural Centre Volunteer Program
• a Multicultural Youth Partnership Program
• contribution towards the employment of a worker to assist the senior citizens of a particular community
• contribution towards the employment of a worker to address the needs of the women in a particular community.
